Beer
General Comment: Despite numerous ad campaigns and national belief, the Yanks really aren't that great at brewing their beer.
Type: Pale Lager
Alcohol content:5%
Comment: This was one of the nicest mainstream American brews we sampled, but still had the inherent 'lack of flavour' issue.
Type: Light Pale Lager
Alcohol Content: 4.2%
Comment: Again, lacking in flavour-flave (yet, strangely, more tasty than Coors). Makes for a good lunch beer.

Type: Pale Lager
Alcohol Content: 4.7%
Comment: MGD: much like Coors- cheap and nice, has flavour by American standards.

Type: Lager
Alcohol Content: 5%
Comment: The GIANT plates of cheap Vietnamese food were better, but the beer was pretty good.

Type: Pale Lager
Alcohol Content: 4.9%
Comment: Uhhh, not-memorable.

Type: Sparkling Pale Ale
Alcohol Content: 7%
Comment: The only logical explanation is that Californian Ale is, in fact, brewed in Satan's colon...

Type: Steam Beer
Alcohol Content: 4.9%
Comment: Steam beer is apparently lager brewed at ale-brewing temperatures. Historically it's supposed to have been foul, and apparently nothing has changed. Brewed in Satan's colon directly after he's eaten some sweaty feet and washed them down with detergent. Avoid at all costs. Close contender for worst beer in the world. Amsterdam Maximator scrapes through. First purchased at the Edinburgh Castle pub in San Fran (and then again accidentally because we'd forgotten what it was called), an establishment that is also remembered as serving fish and chips of a strong 'foot' smell. It was also pretty cool in its own way. Note I'm not talking about the beer, I'm talking about the pub, and we didn't object to the smell entirely, since we'd been in our clothes for about 30hours and thought for a long time that the smell was in fact wafting off our own bodies. No, the beer was horrible. It was fucking terrible - Like a cheap-arsed nasty Ale from Britain with a fluorescent squirt of detergent to help 'space out' the taste. The drinking of this beer was soon a system of punishment for an incorrect guess in '20 questions'; a memorable horror that stays firm in my memory. Did I mention it was bad? Because that's also a good word for it. Bad. But really, really bad. Really, really, really bad. Or worse. Pretty darn bad is where I'm going with this. Pretty darn'n'carnations baddy bad bad McGonad Squeally bad.

Type: "Extra special bitter"
Alcohol Content: 5.8%
Comment: Again, Satan's colon.

Type: Pale Lager
Alcohol Content: 4.7%
Comment: Fucking China - If I'd known it was made in China, I wouldn't have bought it.

Type: Lager
Alcohol Content: 5-5.5%
Comment: Searching for the details on Dave's Electric Beer I came across this review: "Very pale, very hazy. Smells bad. Tastes bad. Lots and lots of esters. Too much even for a pale ale." Burdo didn't like it either; Pe on the other hand thought that it was pretty good. It was a few pegs up on the Satan's colon brews we'd been having."

Type: Pale Ale
Alcohol Content: Probably around 7%
Comment: We enjoyed this pleasant local ale in a saloon in Tombstone (complete with swinging doors).

Type: Dark Lager
Alcohol Content: 6%
Comment: Got this one in a Mexican Restaurant near Mexico. The beer, unlike the food, was very nice (the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't the awesome Mexican we were hoping for so close to Mexico). Unlike the Yanks, the Mexicans seem to know what they're doing, both when cooking Mexican food and brewing beer.

Type: Amber Lager
Alcohol Content: 4.8%
Comment: See Negro Modelo. Ditto.

Types: Oatmeal Stout.......Pale Ale ................Hefeweizen.............Pilsener ..................Steam Beer..
Alcohol Contents: We never knew...
Type: Dry StoutAlcohol Content: 4.1-4.3%
Comment: Guinness - the old favourite... Indeed, we have flights to Dublin for the sole purpose of visiting the Guinness factory. And it will be a sweet, sweet few days!
"Hard Liquor" (otherwise known as Spirits)
General Comment: What they lack in Beer quality, they make up for in their Bourbon...
Type: Bourbon WhiskeyAlcohol Content: 40%
Comment: We went to a little bottl'o near Mexico and the guy behind the counter chatted for a while then sold us the JD gift set for the same price as a bottle of JD. One feels so much more refined when drinking from a hi-ball rather than swigging from a bottle.
Damn I love Jack Daniels. I could go for some right now.
